Advocacy Services
Utilizing a family-centered empowerment model, the center facilitates parent and professional collaboration and interagency coordination by providing support, technical assistance and information concerning medical treatment, social services, educational, vocational, financial and legal rights.
Diagnostic Medical Genetics Clinics
The Lili Claire Family Resource Center provides diagnostic evaluations, genetic counseling, treatment, medical advice and consultation for individuals with neurogenetic conditions, and performs life-saving medical procedures, as needed.
Diagnostic Behavioral and Autism Clinics
This multi-disciplinary clinic focuses on behavioral/developmental, educational and social skills difficulties experienced by children with underlying neuro-developmental medical conditions. The doctors provide assessment and recommendations for medical, psychological, and educational interventions.
Psychosocial Counseling
The Center provides family counseling referrals to help parents and families of people with neurogenetic birth conditions cope with the emotional difficulties of caring for a family member with special needs, as well as bereavement counseling to families who have lost a child.
Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Clinics
This is a comprehensive multi-disciplinary clinic where specialists collectively evaluate the child and formulate a treatment and action plan for the entire family. The plan includes medical, psychological, and educational interventions.
School Advocacy
Our experienced Social Workers work closely with you to advocate for your child at their school, and help to design an Individual Education Plan (IEP), taking into consideration your child’s particular disability and academic goals.
Sibling Workshops
Except for parents, no one in a family spends more time with children who have a disability than do brothers and sisters. The sibling relationship is usually the longest-lasting relationship in a family. Brothers and sisters will likely be involved in the life of a child with a disability longer than anyone, including a child's parents. Sibling Workshops acknowledge the often-complex feelings that can come along with being the brother or sister of a person with a disability. At the same time, it reflects a belief that brothers and sisters have much to offer one another if given a chance.
Resource Library
The Family Resource Center offers free, unrestricted access to our Information Library and support to search for financial, educational, legal and other advice and resources, with the help of the Center’s staff.
Emergency Medical Intervention
The Lili Claire Foundation provides for emergency medical services worldwide to children living with neurogenetic conditions. Since our inception, we have provided emergency medical consultations, diagnoses and treatment to qualifying children living outside the United States, whose parents cannot afford or access relevant medical information or procedures in their own countries due to lack of availability or financial difficulties. Most notably, The Lili Claire Foundation is willing to fund necessary heart surgeries to low-income children worldwide living with Williams Syndrome. In order to qualify for a heart surgery, families must provide proof of a positive diagnosis for Williams Syndrome, or undergo diagnostic exam coordinated by the foundation.
Emergency Family Fund
The Lili Claire Foundation knows all too well the difficulties that many families face when trying to pay the medical bills and to meet the needs for the related care and family support when a member of their family has special needs. It is for this reason that the Foundation has created the Emergency Family Fund, which offers financial assistance in extraordinary circumstances.
